The DSO Hamilton-Niagara Region (DSOHNR) supports people with developmental or intellectual disabilities and their families, living in: 

  • Hamilton 
  • Niagara 
  • Brant 
  • Haldimand-Norfolk 
  • Six Nations of the Grand River First Nation 
  • Mississaugas of the Credit First Nations 

Developmental Services Ontario (DSO) is the access point for adult developmental services funded by the Ministry of Children, Community and Social Services (MCCSS) in Ontario. There are 9 DSO locations across the province.  The 9 DSO organizations do the following: 

  • Confirm if a person is eligible for adult developmental services
  • Help the person understand and complete the application process
  • Determine the kind of services and supports a person needs
  • Make referrals and service registration with consent
  • Update a person’s information as it changes, and update referrals and registrations
